the seal of the living god
REV.7:1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. REV.7:2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, REV.7:3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
“I know you want that seal. That seal comes to those who grieve about the wickedness. For that is your perfume, the foul smell you put forth when looking at the wickedness. You send out a smell of reproach. The angels can smell it. Those who hate the wickedness of the evil one have not taken on the stench of this world, and thus remain separate and will be separate from the evils that come.
Just imagine what this is saying here: The earth will be hurt—trees burned, fruit can’t grow, land can’t produce, sea animals die and the water stagnates. Yet, though you are in the world, you are not of the world, and though the actual physical conditions are putrid and bad, you are not affected. How can that be? When you are sealed you are not just stamped and marked, but covered all over, sealed up, protected. You might need to come out and be separate and touch not these things, and find God can provide just the same. Without the water cycle working right, without the land producing, without any products from trees of any sort in the places where they are hit, things are going to be really tough. That’s why it says at the end of this chapter “not hunger and thirst” because the result of this hurt on land, sea, and trees—and all that it actually means, spiritual and physical—will be a lot of pain and physical loss and trouble. But if you depend on the Word for your bread and water, and the Kingdom of God as your tree to rest in and bring you support, and you are sealed from the plagues that come as a result of this time of trouble, you will not be hurt.” (Jesus Speaking)
