A Talk With Jesus About Living The Word By Faith
Turn your eyes one degree off center and you begin to turn aside from the path. You may not at first realize that your steps have drifted off the straight-and-narrow line of My will. Well, that’s because you are still under My shadow. Being under My shadow is like being under the effects of My Word. I cast a big shadow, and like the green bay tree spoken of in Psalms, there is a lot of room under My tree. However, like with the tree in your backyard, if you were to stand under it, let’s say out a bit from the trunk, away from where all that healthy sap flows; if you were to stand out there in one place long enough, you would find that during the course of the day you would eventually be standing in the blazing sun. The tree didn’t shift; you shifted. But, you say, “I didn’t move,” but I say, “I did, and you didn’t move with Me.” But, you say, “It was the sun that moved, not you.” But, I say, “I am the Son, and I am a moving God.” But, you say, “I thought you were the tree.” The tree is My Word that is where you will find the life-giving sap. If you had stayed as close as possible to the trunk, My blazing sun would not have touched you.
Now you may think that was a silly, senseless parable, but perhaps that is because you have lost your simplicity and the innocent child-like faith which you once had in My Word. Perhaps you have grown tired of silly fables, tales, and allegories. Perhaps you have grown tired of My parables that can at times be so hard for your carnal mind to figure out.
“Master, why teachest thou them in parables?” And He said “Because it is given to you to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of God: but unto them it is not given.”
The mysteries of the Kingdom certainly weren’t given to My disciples because they were smarter or more intelligent, as it was later said of My boys that they were unlearned and ignorant men. So what is it that gives My disciples the understanding that those lacked? Understanding comes through the spirit and by the spirit; it has to be given to you to understand even the very simple mysteries of the Word of God. My Word giveth light; it giveth understanding to the simple, not the analytical, carnal-minded, full-of-self Pharisee. Sometimes I would turn the light on for the Pharisees to see, but on seeing, they would get angry. They were lovers of darkness; they hated the light because the light exposed what is hidden in the darkness.
My Word is soul food; it’s not for the carnal mind. It giveth understanding to the simple. If you are feeling the heat of that sun, then move back toward the trunk. It only takes one step and you are back under My shadow, but don’t stop there, because before long you will be in the blazing sun again. Instead move right up close to the trunk and hug it really tightly. My Word is like the food you eat; you don’t need to analyze the ingredients in order to get nutrition from it. You don’t necessarily have to understand what you are feeding on in order to be strengthened by it. Understanding comes because of your obedience to feed on My Word, but understanding isn’t a necessary element to spiritual growth. I don’t always give you understanding, but at times I do and when you are given that understanding, you get all excited. You are like a little child who suddenly discovered something new and special. I love watching your reaction to something you discovered in My Word. But you may have noticed that the understanding passes; it is not lost, but it passes. That understanding is like an incentive I place there to keep you interested in what you are doing. In other words, you aren’t supposed to just stand there under the shadow of that moment of inspiration; you are supposed to move with Me by following the shadow of My Word.
You need to pray, as King David did, for the Lord to open your spiritual eyes to give you a greater understanding of the truth in God’s Word. “Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things from Your law.
The most important thing you need to understand about My Word is that by just simply taking it in you will stay healthy spiritually. “And if you come to something you don’t understand, just wrap it up in a little package of faith and put it on the shelf and wait for Me to unwrap it for you and reveal it to you later. I even told My disciples, whom I’d lived with and taught day and night for over three years, ‘I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.’”
If you are having a problem with receiving all the new New Wine I am pouring out through My MB channels, then go back to the milk of My Word and start feeding on it. I don’t look at this as a weakness, but as strength. You may not have the answer to your aliment, but you have at least recognized that you are sick and have the good sense to know where to find the remedy.
And if you go back and take your medicine like a good child, then in time, I will give you the understanding. But don’t be like those that jump out of bed the minute they feel an improvement in their health; stay on the milk until full faith returns to your sick soul. Every now and then you can add a little meat to your diet, just to give you an added boost. Before long your strength and vitality will return and you will be feeding mostly on meat with a little milk every now and then.
The World and the Carnal Mind
These two are in partnership; they are like a couple of drug addicts hallucinating on fantasy. They move about the streets of your mind looking for entrance. They pass by the doors that have “Stay-out” signs on them, or doors that are sealed and locked with the Keys of My Word. No, these two are in search of those doors that are left ajar or that have no lock. They really love open window. They are especially adept at gaining entrance to windows that are shaded by My shadow. Now isn’t that a strange thought; how did they get into My space? Well, if you were listening carefully, you would know that the owner of the burglarized house was not diligent to stay close to the trunk. They were happily lounging in the shadow of those who are tightly wrapped around My trunk. I hope you are catching My parable. People that go along under the effects of My Word are the prime targets of these two. Lust and pride often come along for the fun of simply breaking and entering the house of your mind. If the owner had been diligently keeping the house cleaned and garnished, they would have noticed the open window and shut it tight. Keep a close eye on boredom, entitlement, and certainly flee youthful lusts. Put away these childish lusts and start tending to the house cleaning. You must get out of the shadows of others, the fruit of others, which is Jesus’ shadow and you grab hold of that tree yourself. Make your own shadow, because there are others that need to come in under that shadow and realize through your sample, through your holding onto the Word that that shadow even exists. If nobody was holding onto Jesus in this world, would there be a shadow? No, but don’t be fooled by the shadow, you’ve got to hold on to Jesus.
