HERE IS MY REACTION TO YOUR “NY TALK TO THE TEENS”

I was amazed at their honesty. They didn’t try to cover up anything. Right there was a big defeat for the enemy. I was imagining Jesus looking at the group and thinking, Who there really loves Me? We are supposed to love others as much as we love ourselves, but we are supposed to love Jesus even more than ourselves. It’s hard enough to love others as much as ourselves, but to love Jesus more than ourselves, I think that’s where the expression “It’s too hard” comes from. It reminds me of that quote that keeps coming back to me, “Not many people want to be blue angels.” It costs too much. To be a prophet of the End is the mission, our destiny, but who is willing to sell all that they have (or all that they think that they would like to have) to buy that pearl of great price? (“It costs too much”, “It’s too hard”). I think I remember a prophecy that says that even in the Heavenly City many people would rather have fun there (be entertained) than get closer to Jesus. So even there the testing never stops. (Please correct me if I am wrong on this.) So that talk really spoke to me –to be real honest with myself, as the teens were. Do I love Jesus enough to do the really hard things? I am thinking back to a time when for about one year I was the night guard for a printing center that printed Mo Letters day and night for mass distribution. I was about 24 at the time. I went on duty when it was getting dark and went to bed a little after sunrise. I wasn’t around people a lot. It was especially hard during the winter (near Canada) when it was really cold. I was supposed to sit in an old prophet bus with an electric heater to keep warm, but that put me to sleep, so I dressed really warm with multiple layers of clothes (including two down jackets) and I just kept walking around most of the time, even while it was snowing, to not go to sleep. I didn’t get cold and never got sick. So I was wondering; do I love Jesus enough today to do something like that? I did it happily because I was a disciple and that was Jesus’ job for me at the time. I am thinking back, and I don’t think it even crossed my mind that it was too hard because I felt I was in God’s will doing what I was supposed to be doing, so it wasn’t a big deal. Do I have that same attitude today? That talk makes me ask myself these questions.

Love,

John
