The Voice Said, “Look In The Mirror And Tell Me What You See.”

Cry out! And I said, “What shall I cry??” What are you feeding your flesh for? To make money and feed your addictions and white magic lusts? What a silly concept; what a crazy waste of your life. Look deeper than the reflection, than that image you see. Shake the mirror and it all goes awry. Now throw that mirror on the floor…Crash! It splinters into a million slivers and shattered pieces. Pick it up and put that image back together again. You can’t of course; so pick up a shard and what do you see?
A distorted broken remnant of that former loveliness. The voice said, “Cry out!” And I said, “What shall I cry?” All flesh is grass, and all its loveliness is like the flower of the field. The grass withers, the flower fades, because the breath of the LORD blows upon it; surely the people are grass. The grass withers, the flower fades, but the Word of our God stands forever. For what is your life, it is but an image in a looking glass that appears for a little time and then vanishes away and you forget what manner of man you are.
When your image shatters and your vapor vanishes away, you will say: “O shriveled soul, who art thou (PDF)? Whence cometh thou.. from within that image in that shattered glass?” Thus saith the Lord: “Even the carcass of man shall fall as dung upon the face of the country, and as grass behind the back of the mower, and there is none to gather it.” Yet your soul will be gathered from upon the country where your carcass fell.
Come O soul, and hear the Words of the Lord and be fattened and oiled because of the savor of His good ointments. His name is as ointment poured forth, therefore will you love Him. He will draw thee; you will run after your King, for He hath brought you into His chambers and you will be glad and rejoice in Him. You will remember His love more than wine.
O soul, incline your ear, and come unto Me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David (PDF). No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, what shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. (Matthew 6:24-34)
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: for he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
