Great peace have they which love Thy law: and nothing shall offend them! (Psalm 119:165) To be offended is to be hurt. If your faith has been hurt because of someone’s actions or deeds, Jesus says you should counteract that hurt by reading the Word of God (Romans 10:17). The Word of God is like medicine that fortifies your soul and spirit against things that hurt, harm or attack your faith. Today, throughout the world, fear is being used to attack the faith of millions of people. Fear is the opposite of faith; fear can steal faith from the life of someone who is not immunized against it.
Fear carries a spirit; in fact, it is a spirit. Fear is also one of the most infectious diseases of the heart; it attacks the spirit of a man and leaves him defenseless against the evil spiritual forces that are now very strong in the world today. Fear is also one of the most favorite spiritual bio-weapons in Satan’s arsenal (ammunition supply box).
The Word of God says in Luke 21:25, 26: That there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
Let’s take a closer look at these end time verses. I want to draw your attention to distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring. If we look at this one line, in relation to what is happening in the world with the Covid virus, we certainly see the nations in great distress and perplexed. But what does the sea and waves roaring mean? In end time bible language the sea often represents the people. And when you have a lot of people in one place, like for example in a demonstration about something they don’t like, the noise they make sounds like the waves of the sea roaring. So let’s rephrase that line by saying: the sea of people roaring like the waves. It’s similar to what you see on television or the internet when people are protesting against masks, lockdowns and vaccinations. One last point; that word: perplex, or to be perplexed, means to be confused.
The Bible says that God is not the author of confusion, 1 Corinthians 14:33; so if God isn’t the author, who is? If Satan came to your mind, then you are correct. Satan is the one creating the confusion and also the one behind the spirit of fear that is distressing the nations of the world. Someone who truly studies the Word of God should not be surprised by this confusion of nations, because in 2 Timothy 1:7 His Word teaches us that fear leaves a man with an unsound mind. In other words, fear eats away at your faith and you begin to act differently and do things that you would not normally do. And always remember, fear is contagious, very contagious. It spreads faster, and is more deadly than a virus. Being a spiritual virus it is designed to attack your faith; and when you lose faith, you lose heart; or as Luke 21:26 points out, your heart fails you for fear. And when fear controls you, you run, often without thinking, into the very arms of Satan, the author of fear.
God wants us to be students of His Word, not simply readers of it. He said in 2 Timothy 2:15…Study to show yourself approved unto God…if God approves of you, it means He is happy with you; your faith makes God happy. So if you are studying His Word, your faith will grow and God will be happy with you. God shows His pleasure by giving us gifts; did you know faith is a gift? That’s right, you can’t work faith up, it is given by reading God’s Word. John Chapter 1 tells us that the Word is Jesus, so by taking in Jesus you are being immunized with His life blood, the perfect remedy against fear.
The devil has an agenda for man too; it is laid out very clearly in the Bible, but if you are ignorant of his devices, you will fall prey to his ploy (strategy); please read 2 Corinthians 2:11. Make no mistake beloved, the world has entered its last days, and right now there is violent warfare underway in the spirit world. That warfare is over the mind, hearts and souls of man, yours and mine. You must understand that the perplexity, distress and fear we are seeing in the world today is simply a manifestation of the warfare being waged in the spiritual realm; God and the devil are fighting for control over the destiny of man and this world.
Yet, so much is dependent on our choices and the decisions we make. If, in fear, we move away from the Word of God, then the devil gets the upper hand. If in faith, we move toward the Word of God, and so trust Him for our strength and salvation, that’s when Jesus and the Father gain the upper hand. It is fear against faith as the devil claims his God-given right to rule this world for the last 3 and a half years, immediately before Jesus returns to take over and rule for 1,000 years. (see Revelation 13:5) Whose side will you be on?
Then touched He their eyes, saying, according to your faith be it unto you. Matthew 9:29…Do you hear this verse? Jesus is saying that through our faith He will touch our eyes and we will see exactly what the devil is up to in the world today. Allow your eyes to be opened by the Word of God. God bless you.
I will leave you with the following words from our dear brother in Christ, Paul: 1 Thessalonians 5:2-8 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
Jeremiah 12:5 If thou hast run with the footmen, (Covid) and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? (666) and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?
